CRITERA:

  1. One $1,000 scholarship (2 or more at the discretion of the CVMC Scholarship Committee and its members) will be awarded.
  2. The applicant is to be a graduating senior from a local Cherry Valley Area High School. It is at the discretion of the board as to the area.
  3. Applicants must be in the top third of their class as determined by the school’s administration.
  4. Consideration will be given to service above self, demonstrating leadership, participation in school and community activities, and good citizenship.
  5. Financial need is not a prerequisite but a consideration.  A primary intention of this scholarship is to reward those who desire to serve their communities.
  6. The scholarship will be paid in 2 payments.  The first of $500 will be paid upon notification in writing to the CVMC treasurer of what school the recipient will attend, the school’s mailing address, when school will start and when the funds will be needed.  The second payment will be paid upon written notification by the student to the CMVC treasurer that the semester or quarter has been successfully completed and they will enroll in the next quarter and would like to receive the balance of  $500.  This scholarship can be used for any advanced education for which tuition is charged.
  7. The name of the grant shall be the Terry Murphy CVMC Scholarship.
  8. The CVMC Scholarship committee will require personal interview(s) with the student(s) prior to final selection in awarding said scholarship.
  9. Request all applications be submitted to the guidance office by the time set forth, and these will then be forwarded to the CMVC scholarship committee in care of Karl Schmitt (karl_k3p@comcast.net ) or Mike Mungor (mike.mungor@gmail.com).
  10. Once Scholarship is successfully completed.  It is the request of the CVMC for the Scholarship awardee to give a brief overview (~15 minutes) of their experience using the Scholarship and around their individual goals.

1.) What are your educational goals and how will they help you attain your career goals?

2.) You must put your name on each page of your application. The above will be your cover page with the question written (typed) out.

3.) Download and complete the Student Data Form DOWNLOAD . Fill out and attach to career goals question. Use as many pages as you need and number accordingly.

4.) Submit to #9 above.
